Privacy & Terms

Short, plain-language version. Last updated: November 2026.

Hinga is a peer-support and journaling space. It is not a crisis service and not medical care. If you are in danger or thinking of ending your life, please contact the Philippines NCMH crisis hotline 1553, your local emergency number, or find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com.

What Hinga collects

Hinga does not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, or location. Because there is no email, the recovery code shown when you sign up is the only way back into your account if you forget your password. Keep it somewhere safe.

Who can see what

Safety checks and AI

Anything you choose to share publicly (and anything a reader reports) is checked for safety by automatic rules and by an AI service provided by Anthropic. The text of that post is sent to Anthropic for the check. Your private diary entries and letters are not sent for AI checks. If a post looks like it may be from someone in danger, it is never removed silently: you will see a caring message with support information instead. Unclear cases are held for a person to review. Automated checks can be wrong; you can contact the admin if you think a decision was a mistake.
